Joshua McBride (b. 2003) is an interdisciplinary fine-artist specializing in the photographic arts of film photography, digital photography and video art tackling his own philosophical conceptions about the historically under-documented throughout the medium.
Being from South Florida, McBride first found interest in photography from a desire to capture the changing environment around him. As growing up immersed in surrounding pop culture, he formed a deep relationship with these various places and cultural artifacts. An influence which still shows throughout his work today.
McBride is drawn to photography for its ability to capture the sacred: hidden structures that make-up and exist behind the most mundane of realities, and may not initially reveal themselves. Yet through forced critical engagement and repeat capturing can become subjects of discourse and further understood.
Currently, he is exploring the intersection between his spirituality and African-American image culture.
As well as the motivators of this environmental change in the spaces around us.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy,
